Digital Communications Associate Summary


As a Digital Communications Associate, you will develop and implement our digital content, audience engagement initiatives and tactics that advance our mission. You will be responsible for maintaining and building Miller Pipeline’s digital presence via social media, websites, and other digital avenues to communicate our core purpose, core values, and impact to multiple stakeholders. This role reports to the Supervisor of Communications and Marketing.


Miller Pipeline supports a hybrid workplace; candidates should be willing to be in the office at least two days a week, pending workload demands.


Digital Communications Associate Main Responsibilities Include the Following:


  • Develop strategies and tactics to increase our social media presence and digital engagement
    • Develop social media strategy, using paid and organic tactics, with input and guidance from leadership
    • Lead the development and execution of digital projects
    • Mobilize digital audiences on policy, organizing, and fundraising campaigns
    • Advise and support Miller Pipeline field leadership and local site teams on digital and social media best practices
    • Oversee paid digital advertising campaigns on social media
    • Track and evaluate digital metrics to measure success and identify opportunities to shift and/or create new strategies and tactics
    • Stay abreast of digital and social media trends and best practices
  • Manage company social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and LinkedIn
    • Produce media-rich visual stories including short videos, data visualizations, infographics, and other digital assets
    • Create, edit and disseminate short-form video content, including scripts
    • Work closely with Communications team and external consultants to produce longer videos for key campaigns and initiatives
  • Collaborate with Communications team and other departments to implement initiatives
    • Create decks for speaking engagements, and other presentations
    • Coordinate projects with external designers, and videographers
    • Assist with updating external websites and intranet
    • Respond, follow up, and track email inquiries made via the website


Digital Communications Associate Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, journalism, or a related field from an accredited university
  • 1+ year working with digital marketing functions
  • 1+ year experience with social media in a professional setting
  • Creative mindset
  • Master of English language (grammar, punctuation, spelling)
  • Ability to closely proofread, read and think critically with forethought and a “what if” mentality
  • Be an excellent ambassador for the department and Miller Pipeline as a whole
  • Excellent communication, written and oral
  • Organization and time management
  • Synthesize and transform complex, jargon-heavy information into concise, clear and compelling materials and presentations
  • Successful experience meeting goals amid competing priorities and tight deadlines
  • Adobe Creative (PS, InD, Ai, PP)
  • Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Established and emerging social media platforms
  • Tech-savvy mindset
  • WordPress experience
